I don't think he has much say in what the Labs do, on a design level. His connection with them's tenuous at best, or don't you think he'd put his base of operations all in one place? Seems neatest.

[Actually he just doesn't really want to fight that fight, but he recognizes his position, right in the thick of it by living with Marco. He'll make the occasional concession to make himself look sympathetic and not... like some kind of traitor.]

It's just that the difference between him and Soeki is that he refuses to let past mistakes make him gun-shy, and the jury's still out on whether that's a good or bad thing (at least for him, other people likely have some very definite opinions).]

There's no shame in doing what you know will get the best result just because it's not the noble thing.
