Fiddleford's starter. He grew up on a Slowpoke farm in Galar where they produced home-made medicine and alcohol, so it was only natural to eventually adopt one as his first partner. Honey is driven in the same way that Fiddleford is. They both have a desire to be seen as competent and acknowledged as useful, and they both will get kind of petty if they feel like they're being overlooked or talked down to. Honey is a support Pokemon and that is a threat. She is here to stall you, poison you, put you to sleep or force you to switch, and in general is a pain to deal with.
OT: Fiddleford McGucket Type: Electric / Water Met: Level 33 / Galar
Moveset: Will-O-Wisp, Hex, Discharge, Volt Switch Held Item: N/A Ability: Levitate Nature & Characteristic: Quirky / Highly Persistent
Caught in a junkyard when Fiddleford was raiding it for scrap to build with. Connie inhabits a particularly old-fashioned washing machine: there are visible scuffs, cracks and duct-tape on its body. Any attempts to entice it with a newer model have failed. It has that same loyalty to its trainer: it will stick by Fiddleford no matter what, and it can get very defensive of him if it perceives something or someone as threatening. Sometimes this means he has to reel it back in before it causes problems, because the list of what qualifies as a threat to Connie is very big and very vague.
Obtained during Fiddleford's college years as a Porygon, Alpha has been a key member of his team ever since. Alpha is incredibly smart, incredibly vain, and loves to make itself everyone else's problem. Evolution into a Porygon-Z has only made it more of a menace, and Fiddleford is more or less the only person who it actually likes being around. It can hit hard and fast, but prefers to set up and make calculated, decisive attacks over just spamming Tri-Attack. As a Trick Room setter it can boost up its slower teammates as well.
Moveset: U-Turn, Outrage, Double-Edge, Tera Blast (Ghost) Held Item: Choice Band Ability: Cursed Body Nature & Characteristic: Impish / Scatters Things Often
A graduation gift from Stanford Pines, and a similar unfortunate mixture of goofy and foolhardy. Velocity is always in a hurry; He's here for a good time and not a long time. He very rarely makes it to the end of a battle, but his willingness to put himself in danger and deal heavy damage without worrying about his own health means he's great for getting out of sticky situations.
Moveset: Salt Cure, Earthquake, Avalanche, Body Press Held Item: Assault Vest Ability: Purifying Salt Nature & Characteristic: Careful / Capable of Taking Hits
Warden is probably the only one of Fiddleford's pokemon with any kind of sense. He thrives in Trick Room conditions, but otherwise is primarily there as backup or a mediating force. Fiddleford likes to think he's a good luck charm, being walking salt and all, though there's no actual hard evidence that he's been any luckier since Warden joined his team. Kind of the exact opposite, actually.
Moveset: Discharge, Earth Power, Flash Cannon, Volt Switch Held Item: Booster Energy Ability: Protosynthesis Nature & Characteristic: Naive / Alert to Sounds
Sometimes you go to work on a team doing cutting-edge research in Paldea and instead of being a great thing for your resume, a Koraidon kills your boss and you have to very suddenly get out of dodge with three magnets you aren't technically supposed to have because they aren't technically supposed to exist. It's fine. Things might have broke bad down in Area Zero but that's not Polly's fault, and Fiddleford is determined to keep it safe. It's a friendly and curious creature, which sometimes makes it hard to keep it as secret as it probably should be. No tricky setup or strategy here: Polly does damage and does damage quickly, and has Volt Switch for a quick getaway when threatened.
